High School Competitions

Parallel to the Nebraska Venture Competitions, Invest Nebraska organizes local high school competitions. These competitions take place on the same day, and in the same location as the Nebraska Venture Competitions.

Purpose

The purpose of the high school competitions is to identify and recognize local high school students who are interested in starting their own business one day. For entrepreneurs to succeed in today's world, they must not only have an innovative idea and/or and exciting product. They must have a plan.

The high school competition is a starting point for students to share idas, organize concepts, and compete against one another for a cash prize. Contestant team members will create a hypothetical business plan that couldbe presented to a potential lender, banker, financier or investor.

Cash price

The cash prizes are $500 for first place, $300 for second place, and $200 for third place.
